RICONTANS ERC Consolidator Grant 2018 PROJECT KICKOFF WORKSHOP & TRAINING COURCE (18-22 June 2019)
The Kickoff Workshop and Training Course of the ERC Consolidator Grant 2018 project RICONTRANS "Visual Culture, Piety and Propaganda: Transfer and Reception of Russian Religious Art in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean, 16th -early 20th c." will take place in the premises of IMS/FORTH from the 18th until the 22nd of June 2019. All the partners of the program from Greece, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Russia will participate in the workshop and discuss in detail the project implementation, methodology and schedule.
The workshop will be followed by two-days Training course on Russian icon painting and iconography open to the academic community.
PHOTO EXHIBITION "Words on Icons. Russian icons from Greece" (18 June - 30 Sept/2019)
As a side-action of the Kichoff Workshop, a photo exhibition "Words on Icons. Russian Icons from Greece", based on previous research of the PI and the Exhibition « Religious Art: from Russia to Greece" (Benaki museum 14/12/2017 - 11/02/2018), will be inaugurated on the 18th of June at IMS/FORTH.
