Andreas Vourtsis
Andreas Vourtsis is a Postgraduate Fellow at the Department of History of Technology of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies-Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas. He holds a BA in History & Philosophy of Science (Department of History & Philosophy of Science/National & Kapodistrian University of Athens) and a MA in Methodology on Criticism and Publication of Historical Sources (Department of History/Ionian University). He also studied History of Film, Photography, and Graphic Media in Manchester/UK and Graphic Design in Athens/Greece. He has worked on the Alexander Fleming Archive/Athens and the Hellenic Pasteur Institute Historical Archive. He was a scientific collaborator in the book-research project 100 years Hellenic Pasteur Institute (forthcoming), with supervisor Dr Efthymios Nikolaidis, Director of Research, Institute for Historical Research, National Hellenic Research Foundation. He also has worked as a Digital Archivist & Editor in the private sector. His research interests include history of medicine (19th & 20th century), science and technology studies, and general history and philosophy of science-technology-medicine. Currently he is working on the IMS Project ‘FORTHistory 1983-2023’, (directed by Prof. G. Harlaftis, funded by FORTH, 2021-2023).
