Ekin Mahmuzlu

Centre of Maritime History Ekin Mahmuzlu is an economic historian of the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey. He currently teaches modern Turkish history and Middle Eastern history at Arel and Işık Universities and is the coordinator of online history courses at Işık University. He was a researcher at IMS-FORTH's ERC project of Thalis Black Sea (ports of Sinop, Trabzon, Samsun, Giresun, and Ordu). His first book “Agricultural, Commercial, and Maritime Change in the Southeastern Black Sea Region: Production, Ecology, and Institutions (1830s–1910s)” will be published by Brill Pubs. in 2024. He is currently working as a post-doc on his Tübitak project “Title Commercial Shipping in the Ottoman Empire (1774-1914)”.
