Ekin Mahmuzlu
Ekin Mahmuzlu is an economic historian of the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey. He currently teaches modern Turkish history and Middle Eastern history at Arel and Işık Universities and is the coordinator of online history courses at Işık University. He was formerly researcher at the ERC project of Thalis Black Sea (ports of Sinop, Trabzon, Samsun, Giresun, and Ordu). His first book “Agricultural, Commercial, and Maritime Change in the Southeastern Black Sea Region: Production, Ecology, and Institutions (1830s–1910s)” will be published by Brill Pubs in 2025. He is currently working as a post-doc on his Tübitak project “Title Commercial Shipping in the Ottoman Empire (1774-1914)” and as a postdoc on the 1001 project of Tübitak project Transformation and Mapping of port of Samsun (1829-1990).
