
Maria Papadaki
Maria Papadaki is a postgraduate student in the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program “Theater and Film Studies,” organized by the Department of Philology at the University of Crete and the Institute of Mediterranean Studies-FORTH. She holds a degree in Sociology from the University of the Aegean and a degree in Directing from the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos-H.C.T.S.S. Since December 2024 she has been receiving a reward scholarship from IMS/FORTH in the context of the Erasmus+ project MigraMedia (2023-1-DE01-KA220-HED-000154375). She works as a freelance director and editor, based in Crete, collaborating with local and European organizations. She has participated with short and medium length films in international film and audiovisual arts festivals in Greece and in foreign cities such as Venice, Istanbul and Almeria. Her films have been screened in cinemas, festival installations, museums and galleries. Her artistic focus is on documentary and experimental video art.
