Lecture by Dr. Yutaka Sasaki
The Laboratory of Geophysical-Satellite Remote Sensing & Archaeoenvironment (GeoSat ReSeArch) of Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS) of Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH) in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the Technological Institute of Crete invite professors, researchers, post-doc, graduate and undergraduate students to attend the lecture of the Assistant Professor from Kyushu University, Japan Dr Yutaka Sasaki with topic:
"Electromagnetic methods using loops: Principles and data inversion"
The lecture will take place in the Lecture Room of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies at Rethymno, on Wednesday November 6th, 2013 at 12:00 hours.
The lecture is organized under the framework of the public activities of the project «Thalis-TEI Crete - Integrated Geoinformatics Technologies for the Time-Lapse Monitoring of Land Pollution from the Disposal of Olive Oil Mills' Wastes» which is financed by the Operational Program: Education and Lifelong Learning, NSRF 2007-2013.
Short CV of Dr Yutaka Sasaki
Yutaka Sasaki received a B.S. (1974) in mining engineering and a PhD (1984) in applied geophysics from Kyushu University, Japan. From 1974 through 1978, he worked for Nittetsu Mining Consultants. He joined Kyushu University as a research associate in 1979 and is now an assistant professor there. His research interests include inverse and forward modeling of electrical and electromagnetic data and their applications to mineral and hydrocarbon exploration. Since 2006, he has collaborated with the exploration geophysics group of Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources.
