The research program Sources of Modern Greek Theatre History of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies has from now on in its possession the theatrical archive of Nikolaos Laskaris (1868-1945). Laskaris is one of the most significant 19^th -20^th century playwrights and the first historian of   Modern Greek Theatre. The archive has been donated to the Institute by his granddaughter Ioli Antonopoulou. It consists of three parts:

1. The third volume of N. Laskaris, History of Modern Greek Theatre, which  remains unpublished and covers the  years 1844-1868.
2. The also unpublished enriched version of his French-Greek lexicon of theatrical terms, and finally
3. A collection of articles and historical documents concerning modern Greek theatre of the 19^th and 20^th centuries.
