Yannis Papadopoulos

Department of History of Cities, Diaspora and Immigration in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea Dr Yannis G.S. Papadopoulos holds a PhD in History from Panteion University in Athens, a D.E.A. in Anthropology from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris, an M.Phil. in Cultural Information Systems from the University of Crete, and a B.A. in History and Archeology from the University of Ioannina. His PhD thesis dealt with the "Immigration from the Ottoman Empire to the United States of America". His research focuses on issues of migration and development.
He is currently a postdoctorate fellow ath the Institue of Mediterranean Studies-FORTH and teaches international migration history at the University of Brasília (UNB).
