Markus Zimmermann
Postdoctoral researcher
Department of the Ancient and Byzantine World Markus Zimmermann has received his PhD in Ancient History at the University of Bamberg. Since 2014 he is Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Chair of Ancient History at the University of Bayreuth. He has published extensively on Roman history and Greek and Roman historiography. Since 2022, he is postdoctoral researcher in the project Leaders and Crisis Management in Ancient Greek Literature, directed at IMS/FORTH by Dr Melina Tamiolaki. He is responsible for the historical issues raised by this project, in particular the topic of crisis and decision-making in Classical Athens. His research will focus on Attic drama (comedy and tragedy) and oratory.
