George Lampropoulos is a PhD candidate of the Department of Geography of Harokopio University of Athens, holder of the postgraduate diploma in "Environment and Development" of the School of Rural, Survey and Geoinformatics Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens and a graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the School of Engineering of the University of Patras. He works at the Laboratory of Geophysics – Satellite Remote Sensing & Archaeoenvironment (GeoSat ReSeArch Lab) of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH). He has participated in national and European projects in the field of digital humanities (study of ancient topography - historical cartography, archaeological mapping, cultural urban routes). Additionally, he has worked in technical companies on developing the national cadastre and telecommunication network projects. His research interests include geographic information systems, participatory processes in spatial data gathering, remote sensing, spatial analysis, geospatial archaeological-cultural data management and historical cartography.
