I am a biologist and a linguist with over 10 years of experience working in historical linguistics using phylogenetic methods. I have worked closely with historical linguists and fieldworkers on a variety of language families, such as Tupí, Arawak, and Bantu. I have also worked with typologists and designed custom databases for complex linguistic phenomena, such as possession classes and construction, or morphological alignment. I am interested in building phylogenetic trees from a variety of linguistic data and in answering evolutionary questions in linguistics using quantitative methods.
