IMS to participate in Arcland's UAV Experts Roundtable.

ArcLand plans to organise a small 2-days experts roundtable meeting in Rethymno (Crete) together with the TOPOI excellence cluster of the Berlin Free University (http://www.topoi.org) and the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (IMS-FORTH) from 22 - 23 January 2014 to bring together 10-15 experts with a known expertise in using UAVs for archaeology.

Marie Curie Fellowship proposal

The Institute for Mediterranean Studies/FO.R.T.H. announces that the Marie Curie Fellowship proposal Mediterranean insularities and ‘miniature continents’: Space, landscape and agriculture in early modern Cyprus and Crete, submitted by Dr Antonis Hadjikyriacou under the supervision of Assistant Professor Elias Kolovos (Department of History and Archaeology, University of Crete, collaborator of the IMS) has been favourably evaluated (95.7/100) by the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission with the assistance of independent experts. The negotiation process for the conclusion of a Grant Agreement has already begun.
