The Institute for Mediterranean Studies, together with the University of Crete, accepted to organize the 20th symposium of the International Committee for Pre-Ottoman and Ottoman Studies (Comité Internationale des Etudes Pré-ottomanes et Ottomanes), which will take place in Rethymno in Summer 2012.
Read moreThe research program Sources of Modern Greek Theatre History of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies has from now on in its possession the theatrical archive of Nikolaos Laskaris (1868-1945). Laskaris is one of the most significant 19th -20th century playwrights and the first historian of Modern Greek Theatre. The archive has been donated to the Institute by his granddaughter Ioli Antonopoulou.
